Environmental Safety Health Director Jobs
Major responsibilities for an environmental, health, and safety director include developing, implementing, and administering health, safety, and environmental programs so as to ensure compliance with regulatory and corporate policies. Other responsibilities include designing training programs, and other promotional activities for EHS; preparing and managing departmental budgets; mentoring and coaching the EHS division with assistance from the environmental, health, and safety managers, specialists, consultants, and/or assistants; acting as a member of the senior management team and participating in strategic management decisions.
An environmental, health, and safety director should have a bachelor’s degree in science or a relevant field accompanied by an EHS certification or qualification. Such senior positions usually require 8 to 10 years of progressively responsible experience. Experience working as an environmental, health, and safety manager or senior manager (EHS) is advantageous.
