Position Scope:

Occupational Health Nurse Manager

Summary Description of Position

The position provides leadership and supervision of the work activities and performance of occupational nurses and engages in providing health services. Duties include supervision and leadership of employees, strategic direction & goal alignment, planning, performance management, integration, customer service and human resource issues. This position will need to establish collaborative and effective working relationships with the client in supported business units in order to develop and implement solutions that drive continuous improvement and compliance excellence across supported functions. Occupational Health programs will be managed in accordance with company policies and procedures and applicable federal, state, and local regulations. This position will also manage contract resources to support outages and other work as needed. Responsible for the development and administration of efficient and professional operations of occupational health, workers compensation, preventative, wellness, and chronic disease condition services in accordance with **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***.s policies, practices, procedures and applicable regulations to achieve the desired goals and objectives.

Major Duties : Include, but are not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned. Oversees and manage the administrative, clinical and operational nursing duties:

* Manages employees. Directs and supervises employees work activities and monitors work performance. Collaborates with Human Resources to screen, interview and hire candidates. Administers disciplinary actions and recommends performance improvement actions in collaboration with the HR Manager. Monitors work performance and recommends compensation decisions based on guidelines. Promotes a cooperative and harmonious environment in order to facilitate positive employee morale, productivity, and continued improvement.

* Participates as a member of the Team. Participates in the ongoing development, communication and implementation of team concepts, programs and policies; coordinates work to ensure best practices with all team members. Attends appropriate team meetings. As a member of the Team, fosters strong cohesiveness regarding all major issues. Accepts responsibility to quickly identify any areas that lack cohesiveness, bringing them to the attention of the team leader and working with the team in a supportive manner to resolve issues and actively look for ways, and reinforce actions needed, to achieve synergy possible within the larger organization.
Build effective relationships with management. Interface with internal customers, internal and external stakeholders, and others as appropriate for the position to ensure that the functions assigned to the group are provided and delivered as expected and in a cost-effective manner. Ensure strategic alignment of the Occupational Health/Medical Services function with other groups in the company
CARE COORDINATION:
Support & Coordination of care for Onsite/Near-Site Model
Patient Centered focus of Holistic Medical Care of all Mohawk Employees
o Coordinator for Community Resources: Collaborates for program development, including but not limited to onsite preventative services, primary care/specialist referrals for Mohawk Employees

Assists in providing local links for EAP services
WORKERS COMPENSATION:
Ensures that Mohawk Workers Comp & Safety departments are informed of all work comp cases
Serves as a Liaison for Liberty Mutual or current Workers Compensation Insurance
Resource for Work Comp guidelines to injured employees
OCCUPATIONAL MEDICINE:
Evaluation of all Return to Works, including but not limited to Work Comp and FMLA
Serve as Subject Matter Expert for development of programs and services as determined need by Collaborate with Environmental Health and Safety, Operations and Human Resources
MEDICAL MANAGEMENT:
Evaluation and treat all injuries, illnesses and medical conditions in an efficient and professional manner within nursing scope of practice and guidelines
Assisting in medical emergencies:
PREVENTION/Wellness Campaigns and Identification of Prevention and Health Opportunities
HEALTH COACHING
Education of Prevention, Chronic Disease and Health Opportunities
Initial Goal Setting to achieve improvement in health outcomes
Steerage into Health & Wellness programs, including but not limited to pilots
ADMINISTRATIVE: responsible for all medical supplies for occupational office
Assures compliance with regulatory requirements, CLIA & OSHA
DOCUMENTATION: Charting within Electronic Health Record, eMDs and HealtheView, in accordance to current policies and procedures

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE:

Licensed Practical Nurse with active Georgia Nursing License, in good standing
Knowledge of medical terminology
Must have a minimum of 2 or more years of Nursing Experience
CPR CertificateAmerican Heart Association or American Red Cross
Basic Computer Skills & Typing expertise for use of the Electronic Medical Record
Interpersonal/human relations skills

Preferred:

Knowledge/Experience of the manufacturing industry
Knowledge/Experience with occupational health nursing
Knowledge of recordable and non-recordable accidents
Knowledge/Experience with onsite health clinics

COMPETENCIES:

Good oral, written and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with internal and external customers
Ability to function independently and multitask
Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding all employee medical information
Ability to interpret and follow oral or documented procedures, instructions, laws and policies
Ability/willingness to adhere to the established departmental service standards
Ability to respond to questions in a tactful and professional manner
Ability to project a positive and professional image on behalf of the organization

This role is based on site in Dalton, GA and relocation is not offered.
