We are now accepting applications for: Corporate Safety Coordinator- Reserve, LA\r
The Safety Coordinator will assist with the design, development and implementation of safety policies and procedures and work with Managers to instill a safety mindset within all levels of the organization.\r
JOB DUTIES\/RESPONSIBILITIES may include, but are not limited to:\r
Prepare and enforce safety policies to establish a culture of health and safety.\r
Plan, organize and implement safety management programs; evaluate effectiveness.\r
Develop and maintain loss prevention initiatives and programs.\r
Investigate and report accidents to determine causes and preventative measures; Perform root cause analysis to produce written reports of conclusions.\r
Conduct safety audits at all Louisiana Cat locations.\r
Inspect and evaluate workplace environments, equipment, practices, in order to ensure compliance with corporate safety standards, customer requirements, and government regulations.\r
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Bachelor's degree in safety-related field is required. At least one year experience coordinating safety in a construction, marine, and\/or petroleum environment. Knowledge of MSHA, OSHA, DOT, and BOEMRE regulations and hazard recognition.\r
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports, procedures, and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and employees of the organization.\r
Basic math skills including computing rates, ratios, averages, fractions, and percentages. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  \r
Demonstrate critical thinking in their ability to define complex problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Must be able to develop routine protocols as well as identify when the routines do not apply in a specific situation and handle exceptions as needed. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.\r
Solid computer skills including Microsoft Office suite. \r
OSHA safety certification preferred.\r
Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Train the Trainer, or other safety certifications preferred.  \r
CPR\/First Aid or EMT certification preferred.\r
Valid driver's license and good driving record.\r
Travel within the state is required\r

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, or sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee must be able to process paperwork and utilize office equipment (including personal computer, phone, copiers, etc.) A large portion of the day is spend communicating orally in person and by phone. Normal sight or corrected vision is required to read documents and use standard computer terminals. The employee must be able to occasionally lift 50 pounds from floor to chest. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.\r

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. While performing some duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. \r
