The Process Safety Management (PSM) Specialist supports operations and maintenance departments in the implementation and promotion of safety initiatives and programs with a goal of attaining a Zero injury workplace and supports regulatory compliance. Become the Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) facilitator certified to facilitate and lead the required risk assessments of PSM covered processes. Lead incident investigations and provide guidance on root cause analysis. Serve as a resource for PSM training and knowledge development. Coach and train employees on PSM-related issues. Manage the process for tracking, follow-up, and completion of action items from MOCs, PSM\/RMP audits, incident investigations, and PHA revalidations. Participate with facility leaders during agency inspections. Assist with Emergency Response Team activities. Lead continuous improvements in safety systems by utilizing employee participation in the plant Safety Committee. Support the implementation and maintenance of the plant\u2019s EHS Management System. Create, administer and update the plant\u2019s safety and health programs. Generate and support PSM metrics and identify problems and opportunities for improving PSM performance. Apply knowledge of psychological and physiological factors to assist in the design of safety features and controls, compensating for the possibility of human errors in the operation of machinery and equipment. Qualifications Required: Bachelor\u2019s degree in Occupational Safety, Engineering, Environmental Science or related field. Will consider other degrees where candidate has significant, direct experience with PSM program elements. 3 to 5 years of experience in chemical manufacturing or refining facility. Working knowledge of OSHA and compliance regulations, including PSM. Preferred: 3 to 5 years working experience with PSM elements - PHA, MOC, Incident Investigation, PSI, PSSR. Experience with management system standards, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001.
