U.S. Facilities and Operations:
Supporting product sales are a network of nationwide marketing and manufacturing locations. Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, is home to the U.S. Corporate Headquarters along with the marketing offices of the Hospital, Outpatient Markets (OPM), Renal Therapies, Vascular Interventional, International, and OEM Divisions. Central Admixture Pharmacy Services, Inc.(CAPS®) is also managed from this location. The nearby Allentown, Pennsylvania, facility manufactures Needle-free products, IV Safety Catheters, Anesthesia Systems, Introducers, Pharmacy Admixture products. Vascular products including Right Heart Catheters and Interventional Accessories are also manufactured in Allentown. The Irvine, California facility produces IV Solutions, Basic and Specialty Nutrition, Drug Delivery, and BTC products. Infusion Pump Systems are manufactured in Carrollton, Texas and IV administration and IV and Irrigation sets are produced in the Dominican Republic.
BBraun's Internship Program is designed to provide University enrolled students with a meaningful experience within the medical device industry. The students are given an opportunity to gain a valuable corporate or manufacturing learning experience through a finite project determined by each department. Projects vary for each intern assignment depending on the needs of the department, and each will provide the intern with both a meaningful and relevant work experience. Internships are a minimum of a ten to twelve week commitment. A mentor will be assigned to each intern to help guide them through their experience. Interns will be asked to conduct a presentation to their department outlining their internship experience.
We are currently seeking an Environmental Health and Safety Intern:
Responsibilities: Essential Duties
By the end of the internship, the EHS student would understand the fundamentals of the discipline of EHS, ability to research regulatory requirements, able to read and interpret OSHA federal codes, apply education knowledge in corporate environment, ability to present PowerPoint presentations for a targeted audience in a knowledge sharing arena or training environment.
Focus will be on Corporate EHS/Security influence on an organization, developed and update standard operating procedures and general instructions for North America Operations and how to multi-task in a fast changing multi discipline department.
Expertise: Knowledge & Skills
Computer skills desired: Advance skills in Microsoft Suite (word/excel/ppt). Must be able to develop pptx presentations and be extremely proficient in general computer use.
Intern assignment/project activities: Environmental and Safety Projects, can be customized to meet learning objectives of student as available.
Student progress will be tracked weekly and performance will be based on satisfactory execution of assigned tasks.
Academic level: Junior / Senior Level
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
