Plains All American Pipeline, L.P.
Plains All American has an immediate opening in the Belfield, ND area for a Division Safety Manager. This role will report to the Director of Safety and will have immediate safety program-related responsibility for the Rocky Mountain Division.
The Division Safety Manager will be responsible for administering the Plains’ safety program, safety and security regulatory compliance, IH monitoring, accident and incident investigation and reporting, internal and external auditing and contractor oversight. Additional responsibilities include:
Assist with Safety Training
Reviewing the JSA’s, Hotwork permits, Excavation permits, Confined Space permits LOTO etc.
Responsible for conducting safety audits
Participate in external audits
Responsible for implementing and upkeep of safety files for the District.
Actively in the field with employees coaching and mentoring safety policy’s
Conducting IH monitoring for noise, benzene, lead, etc.
Implementing safety committees
Approver for MOC in the District
Working with Security Director implementing security plan for the District
Conducting contractor safety audits
Participating in project kick off meetings
Conducting Incident investigations for company employees and contractors
Responsible for contractor safety oversight for the District this includes operation contractors and major projects
Travel is required and this position must be available to respond to emergencies.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
Candidates must have a working knowledge of pipeline and trucking operations as well as a strong working knowledge of OSHA and PHMSA regulations as they pertain to the commercial transportation industry.
This position requires the candidate to be proficient in written and verbal communications skills, have strong interpersonal skills and to be adept in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Science or related Technical discipline highly recommended or 5 to 10 years of pipeline experience
Must participate in Plains Medical Surveillance and Drug and Alcohol program as required under OSHA’s 29 CFR1910.120. & PHMSA, 49 CFR Parts 192.
