Purpose of Role
The HSE Technician reports to Site HSE Manager and is responsible for assisting in the development, implementation, of the site Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) activities as part of the overall deployment of the regional HSE program. Through the development of an overall Safety, Security and Environmental Management System, Mars has embedded this value into the organization.\u00a0 The site Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Technician plays an essential role in this management system through hands-on execution of the Global / Regional HSE Standards, fostering a robust HSE culture and driving associate involvement.
Incumbent will assist with execution of HSE activities, in full alignment with the site HSE Manager and in compliance with federal, state, local, and Mars requirements.\u00a0 The site HSE Technician works with the Site HSE manager and collaborates with other site representatives to ensure the overall corporate HSE strategy is refined for the site and executed minimizing the Company\u2019s general liability and exposure to safety, environmental compliance and security risks.\u00a0 Further, understanding of key business drivers and its relation to the role is equally important.\u00a0
\u00a0Principal Accountabilities \u2013 Core:
Ensure Site maintains continuous \u201caudit ready\u201d state of compliance with company and governmental HSE Standards.
Responsible for the development, deployment of all company HSE Standards as they specifically apply to the site.
Accountable for the execution of all site environmental compliance programs, including air, stormwater, water, spill control, and wastewater. Ensures all testing required by company standards are met on time.
