Sr Technologist, Environmental Health and Safety
This position is to
provide and assist in Environmental, Health and Safety management of the
organization including but not limited to legal compliance, corporate
compliance, incident investigations, trainings, leading the EHS Team and
implementation of EHS programs.
Essential Job Functions
Assist with site awareness & training to EHSpolicies, of specific EHS programs assigned by EHS Manager(for example: Waste Handling, Distillation Process, SPCC, Radiation Safety, Forklift, LOTO Programs,and ProcedureRevisions, etc.)
Site waste handling, collection, sorting,shipping, manifesting, and on time reporting/permitting to corporate andgovernment agencies
Conduct inspections andcompliance reviews for laboratories and manufacturing. Follow up on closurereports.
Participate in processhazard reviews IQ/OQs of new and existing equipment to ensure EHS issues are addressed.
Analyze resourceconsumptions and evaluate potential cost savings (water, electricity, fuel, waste, emissions, etc.)
Assist in emergency response team activities to ensure facility is prepared inthe event of an emergency.
Plan and execute EHS promotional and awarenessprograms to reduce injuries and waste generation.
On time arrival to work,regular attendance without excessive absenteeism, and working 8 hour shift.
Provide guidance for theproper selection of personal protective equipment.
Provide assistance todevelop chemical inventories.
Education and Experience:
H.S. Diploma or equivalent (required)
5 Years relevant experience managing regulated waste compliance is required
Knowledge of EPA, OSHA,local and federal regulations
Must have exceptionalwritten, verbal and interpersonal skills
