Environmental Health & Safety and Food Safety Manager - Billings, MT','100181','May 16, 2018','Montana-Billings','','!*!Job Overview: Maintains a leadership role in development and implementation of employee safety, compliance, environmental management, risk control initiatives and food safety programs (HACCP, FSMA, SQF). Oversees insurance claim function designed to protect earnings against the financial impact of loss due to: food safety practices, employee injury, liability claims by members of the public, building damage, loss of physical assets or business interruption due to fire or damage to the environment. Manages the worker's compensation process and coordinates fire prevention/protection and industry security efforts in the distribution center. Responsible for compliance, certifications and audits with all impacted governmental agencies and private auditors regarding food and workplace safety. Job Responsibilities and Accountabilities: Leads safety programs to drive employee safety and meet regulatory requirementsTrains and supports operations in accident investigation techniques. Analyzes factors that may create accidents, accident conditions or enable multiple accidents. Identifies potential high-risk accident situations and assists various departments in the implementation of control strategiesMonitors adherence to the DC’s Safety programs, practices, policies and procedures that cover a wide range of Company and Regulatory agency required activity. Acts as a primary interface with groups such as government agencies, insurance companies, etc.Coordinates services of the worker’s compensation claims administrator, property and liability insurance consultants and a wide variety of state and federal regulatorsImplements corporate directives related to and including ergonomic observations, hazard assessments, approved practices, data analysis and metrics analysesManages the employee return-to-work program and medical case management programs. Develops, facilitates and coordinates applicable training programs. Monitors training of new associates with respect to safety policies and proceduresHandles the most complex RC matters or projectsWorks as key communicator to all employees regarding policies and practices. Coaches and guides leaders in creating a culture of safety and risk management. Develops, requests and reviews accident statistical reports to focus efforts on injury trends and corrective actionsJob Requirements:Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience requiredProfessional certification, such as GSP, ASP, CSP and/or ARM preferred. HAACP, FSMA, Food Safety certifications preferredBroad working knowledge of federal, state, and local safety, health, environmental, and worker's compensation laws and regulationsKnowledge of medical, legal and hazardous chemical terminology. Knowledge of industrial security best practices and procedures preferredAbility to work a flexible work scheduleExcellent PC skills requiredComprehensive understanding and expertise in virtually all areas of Risk Control typically gained through 6 years of applicable Risk Control experienceProven ability to effectively communicate with all levels of management and provide superior customer service required.
