Health and Safety Officer - EHS Associate I\r
Kelly Scientific Resources is in search of an Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Associate to join a biotech company located in Seattle, WA. The EHS Associate will ensure compliance to their waste management procedures and to support the EHS team in enforcement of EHS policies and procedures. This is a 1 year contract position at a quickly growing Therapuetics company.\r
\tEnsure compliance to companies waste management procedures.\r
\tMaintain metrics for waste disposal. Monitor and pick up biohazardous wastes.\r
\t\tChecks should be done multiple times per day.\r
\t\tDocument bio waste frequency on all floors\r
\t\tDocument leakage or other problems of note.\r
\tChemical satellite area monitoring and documentation. Monitor chemical satellite areas on each lab floor for full chemical waste bottles, proper labeling techniques, correction of wrong techniques and collection of full waste bottles down to the chemical waste storage area. \r
\tChemical waste area organization and documentation.\r
\tUniversal Waste coordination, including battery bucket emptying and monitoring\r
\t1st Aid Kit monitoring and documentation for metrics\r
\tChemical designation stickers – initial lab documentation and inspection to add these, then also coordinate with supply chain to have these put on prior to stocking the laboratories.\r
\tShipping and receiving liaison for EH&S\r
\tMaximum Available Quantity monitoring per lab floor for flammables.\r
\tCompliance walk through of areas assigned\r
\tAssist in audits and inspection\r
\tAssist in other duties as assigned\r
\tHighly organized, excellent communication skills, reliable and attention to detail is critical.\r
\tProficient in computer software programs such as WORD and EXCEL\r
