Chemtool Incorporated in Rockton, Illinois is currently recruiting for an HSE Training Specialist to lead the HSE training initiatives for operations. Duties include, but are not limited to, the following: conduct HSE training sessions, facilitate Train-the-Trainer classes, and act as the ambassador between HSE and operations to foster our HSE culture. A successful candidate will have a solid understanding of HS&E principles, industrial operations, commonly used concepts, practices and procedures within HS&E compliance. They will prepare, coordinate and conduct HSE training.
*Determine training objectives and needs through close coordination with HSE leaders, Specialists and operational leaders. *Recommend and design training programs based on regulatory requirements and company needs. *Keep abreast of industry best practices and emerging technologies. *Identify areas where enhancements to HSE training can be made and recommend and execute on those enhancements. *Coordinate with all divisional operational HSE leaders to ensure adequate HSE training resources and courses. *Coordinate with all divisional operational HSE leaders to provide training assistance in their operational areas. *Monitor and control training expenses. *Monitor the execution of HSE training and certification programs for employees in the designated geographical region. *Assist in coordination of activities related to HSE training delivery (deploying information on training programs, coordinating schedules, enrolling participants, tracking participation). *Present information using a variety of instructional techniques and formats such as individual instruction, role playing, simulations, team exercises, group discussions, videos and lectures. *Performs training, periodic drills/evaluations and testing on forklift, man-lift, crane, First Aid/CPR and other specialized HSE training. *Assists with writing, updating, organizing and delivering HSE training materials in accordance with Company programs and procedures through multiple and varying methods (i.e. manuals, multi-media, visual aids, and other training materials). *Collects feedback on HSE programs and suggests improvements to training programs and processes. *Provides guidance and support to facilitate computer based training and answer related questions.

Bachelor's degree required
*5 years minimum work experience *Experienced with various training methods including on-the-job, mentorship, classroom led and e-learning or computer based; graphic design experience preferred *Computer proficiencies: Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat *Self-disciplined, detail-oriented and able to adapt to change easily *Excellent time management skills; be able to work on multiple projects at one time *Contribute to a positive team dynamic by working well with others *Strong ability to communicate clearly and concisely, verbally and in writing *Robust organizational and collaborative skills *Technical understanding of general HSE concepts and regulations
