Job Description

Ecolab is seeking a Director of Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) for our Global Pest Elimination division.

This is a

The role provides leadership level support and guidance to the Global Pest Elimination business and also represents Pest on the Global SHE leadership team. The role is located in St. Paul, Minnesota.


This position reports from an operations perspective to the SVP of the Global Pest Division and functionally to the Director of SHE for Ecolab’s Institutional Customer Segment. This position is part of the Global Pest leadership team. Reporting directly to this role are SHE professionals responsible for delivering Pest specific programs to the North American business. Reporting functionally to this role are SHE professionals in countries outside of NA.

Main responsibilities:

Understand the unique SHE risks and opportunities in the Pest elimination business.

Guide and support Pest leadership in developing and executing strategies to reduce risk and support a strong Safety culture. As part of this, ensure that the Pest programs align with the Ecolab Global SHE policies, platforms and strategy.

Partner with business leaders and SHE COEs to identify and implement disruptive, innovative solutions and programs to proactively reduce risk.

Partner with business leaders, Corporate SHE COEs and SHE professionals globally to ensure compliance with local regulations as well as with Ecolab standards. Monitors changes in safety regulations relevant to the Pest business and proactively advises the business.

Represent Pest Elimination on the Global SHE Leadership team and on the Institutional Customer Segment SHE team. Contribute to the development of corporate programs and policies that help Ecolab identify and reduce risk.

Ensure that Pest leverages corporate and divisional programs and tools globally.

Partner with Pest Leadership and Marketing/Communications on field facing SHE communications.

Lead and develop the SH&E talent within the Pest Elimination business

Construct the annual SH&E business plan (financial, metrics, goals and objectives)

As part of the Global SH&E leadership team, work with colleagues to identify leading and lagging metrics and manages the processes to collect and verify.

Prepare and present executive level communications.

Manage the Global Pest Safety Champion network, including identifying success metrics, delivering training and feedback, and ensuring the model best fits leadership needs.

Represent the Pest business to local safety regulatory agencies.

Represent the Pest SHE programs to Customers as needed as part of Sales, compliance audits, issue resolution or Customer relationship building.

Minimum Qualifications:

BA/BS degree

10 years experience leading or supporting a remote field organization

Ability to travel up to 25%

Preferred Qualifications:

Degree in SHE, Industrial Hygiene or related field

Demonstrated change agility and experience with disruptive disruptive process evolution.

Demonstrated success in developing and implementing field facing programs

Proven successful team leadership

Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to partner with global colleagues, SH&E professionals and senior business leaders

Project management experience

Experience as a SHE professional

Experience working in the Pest Elimination industry

Experience working with a global organization

Change Management, change leadership experience

Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent

Experience in managing remote teams

Green Belt or Black Belt certifications

Master’s degree in a related area such as Business, Science, Engineering or other technical specialty related to safety, health and environmental practices
