Primary Job Duties:
The primary role of the Environmental Health& Safety Supervisor is to inspect and evaluate the environment, equipment and processes in working areas to ensure compliance with company & government safety regulations and industry standards.
Essential Job Duties:
Responsible for ensuring that workers are properly trained regarding company-specific and OSHA safety requirements.
Assist Management in creating, maintaining and communicating safety-related policies and procedures, as well as ensuring that they are followed.
The EHS Supervisor will be proactively involved in ensuring that proper safety practices are observed in the workplace.
Perform safety inspections throughout the facility to ensure compliance to standard operating procedures.
Maintain required Health & Safety records as required by OSHA, **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. or OHSAS 18001.
Conducts risk assessment and job safety analysis of routine and non-routine tasks.
Analyses first aid, near miss and behavior based metrics to help determine safety objectives to support the companyâ€™s continuous improvement philosophy.
Directly responsible for administering the Hearing Conservation program.
Observe working conditions, equipment and employee behaviors to identify safety problems and corrective actions.
Responsible for making sure that all safety equipment is properly maintained. Tasks may include but are not limited to: periodic facility fire safety equipment inspections, verifying that first aid kits are properly stocked, fall arrest and ladder inspections, inspection of overhead lifting devices, as well as ensuring that company power vehicles and equipment are properly inspected and maintained.
Key leader in accident investigations and root cause analysis.
Provides key leadership to compliance of OHSAS 180001, ISO 140001 and ISO 50001 management systems.
Conduct behavior based assessments (SMAT)
Provide leadership to the 5S process.
May be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.
Qualifications & Skills:
High School diploma (2 or 4 year college degree is highly preferred)
Familiarity with MS Office applications.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
Familiarity with OSHA, NFPA and NEC rules and regulations.
Knowledge of ISO/OHSAS Management systems a plus.
3 Years of experience in a Safety related role.
