Job Description â€“ Quality & HSE Manager Job Title: Quality & HSE Manager Location: Dillon, South Carolina Department: Quality - HSE Reports To: Plant Manager 1. Purpose: The Quality & HSE Manager supports the overall Dillon Plant activity through establishment, testing, and auditing of quality standards and procedures to ensure that all Dillon produced product meets customer expectations and performs as required. In addition, the Quality & HSE Manager will ensure ongoing compliance to required HSE standards, OSHA regulations, and DHEC/EPA environmental policies through effective training of well-defined procedures, thorough auditing of performance to those procedures, and leading overall plant initiatives to highlight and carry out improvement opportunities to reduce risk. 2. Direct Reports: None 3. Dimensions of Position: Product Quality Employee Health Plant Environmental 4. Key Result Areas: Lead efforts to fulfill requirements of the established Quality Control Plan and analyse the results of this testing to proactively determine corrective actions to avoid major quality upsets. Develop and help implement a thorough training program for all hourly operators working in the production of Dillon made product. Work closely with the Technical Manager, Process Engineer and Lab Technician to monitor key process parameters and use the 8D process as required to work thru root cause and corrective actions for detected quality issues. Lead the review and analysis of customer complaints to insure effective containment and corrective actions are implemented as quickly as possible. Lead plant efforts to insure the DL quality management system adheres to ISO9000 standards and passes regular external audits to these standards. Create visual management tools to highlight DL Quality and HSE activity and encourage continuous improvement. Act as primary HSE contact for the DL plant â€“ oversee full implementation of corporate safety and environmental standards that insure OSHA and DHEC/EPA compliance. Conduct Training on all required HSE topics for all DL employees Develop annual Site Safety Improvement Plan and lead efforts to implement and complete as planned. Lead regular audits and assessments to ensure required Quality procedures and HSE processes meet standards and are properly followed by the workforce. Lead, train, and develop necessary HSE teams and committees that can assist in advancing HSE compliance and be prepared in event of an emergency. Maintain a well-organized and documented Emergency Action Plan and conduct tests of this plan to insure it will be properly followed in times of need. Lead all HSE incident investigations and implement corrective actions. Collect all necessary data to submit required Quality and HSE reports in a timely manner. Work on other assigned projects as required 5. Main Interactions: Contact Frequency Purpose Production/Quality Daily as needed To adequately perform in position ISO9000 Quality Auditors Annually Pass QMS Audit 6. Qualifications: Bachelorâ€™s Degree in Engineering degree preferred - Associates degree with good applicable experience possible 7. Experience: 3 yearsâ€™ working experience within a manufacturing environment, with specific experience working with ISO9000 standards and OSHA/HSE guidelines preferred. 8. Knowledge: Prior ISO9000 internal auditor training would be a plus. OSHA specific training a plus 9. Skills & Behavior: Safe work attitude Self-motivated Ability to multitask Excellent verbal and written communication skills Good computer skills (Microsoft Office software) 10. Problem Solving & Complexity: Problem solving will be a day to day activity required by the occupant of this position.
