Position Summary Facilitates the coordination of PNHS-wide Quality Assessment and Patient Safety processes. The manager will work collaboratively with executive leaders, operational and clinical staff to implement programs to minimize incidents and ensure prompt response and resolution of reported incidents. The manager will be responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance with pertinent Joint Commission (TJC) and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) standards. The manager will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with MN state laws and reporting requirements, including Adverse Health Events. Directly supervises the Patient Safety/Quality Assessment Staff, including hiring, disciplinary counseling, mentoring, orientation of new staff, scheduling, assuring staff are updated on Organization-wide policies/procedures, as well as Administrative updates, and providing consultative services as needed. Directly responsible to the Director Patient Safety & Accreditation. Education/Experience: u2022 Bachelors Degree in nursing required. Masters Degree preferred (in business, nursing, statistics, or other health care field). u2022 5 or more years experience in Patient Safety, Quality, Process Improvement, Regulatory, and/or clinical operations. u2022 Previous management experience. u2022 Knowledge and training in quality improvement methodology preferred. Special Knowledge/Skills/Certifications/Licenses: u2022 CPHQ (Certified Professional In Healthcare Quality) preferred. u2022 Strong statistical and analytical skills. u2022 Strong human relations, verbal, and written communication skills. u2022 Project management skills are essential, as well as the ability to effectively problem solve. u2022 Leadership Development training u2022 Current state certification of Registered Nurse Licensure, and Certification in Healthcare Quality, or other degrees as listed above.
