SUMMARY:This position serves as the subject matter expert on occupational health issues impacting Tyson Foods. Responsibilities include developing, implementing, and leading occupational health programs across the total enterprise to foster a safe and healthy work environment. He or she will collaborate with Business Unit (Fresh Meats, Poultry, and Prepared Foods) leaders to continually improve occupational health processes to produce desired outcomes. This position will perform complex analysis to determine root cause of issues impacting occupational health in the workplace, and will make the appropriate recommendations to senior leadership based on the data and a deep understanding of food manufacturing principles. The Sr Dir Occupational Health provides leadership to the occupational health team at the corporate office and in the field. He or she will work with partners in Human Resources and other shared services functions to ensure strategies are in place to successfully recruit, develop, retain, and compensate company nurses. In total, this position will ensure a highly-engaged, highly-trained staff of occupational health nurses is in place to care for Tyson team members. This position will develop partnerships with local, state, and federal agencies to ensure compliance to requisite rules and regulations. He or she will also partner with company peers in safety and operations to reduce the incidence of workplace accidents, injuries, and illnesses; and will lead and participate in audits to ensure facility compliance and follow-through on prescribed courses of action.REQUIREMENTS:Education: Associate degree in nursing required; advanced degree preferred. Must possess or be willing to obtain RN license in the State of Arkansas.Experience: 13 years of progressive experience in occupational health required; food manufacturing experience preferred.Computer Skills: Basic computerskills required, to include proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Word).Communication Skills: Excellent verbal, written, and negotiation skills required. Must be able to relate to all levels of the organization-from the executive level to the plant floor.Special Skills: Statistical analysis, problem-solving, knowledge of hazard control systems, thorough understanding of recordkeeping requirements and systems, political savvy, conflict management, and delegation and holding team accountable.Travel: 12 trips per year.Supervisory: Experience leading and managing a team of professional nurses required. Must be willing and able to work through conflict and model Tyson Foods' 5Cs (Caring, Candor, Commitment, Creativity, and Collaboration) in all interpersonal interactions.,
