Reporting to the Global Director, Treasury and Risk Management, the Corporate Safety Manager will manage, develop, and outline the compliance processes necessary for safety and loss prevention activities and other organizational projects; coordinate and manage the safety auditing process and regularly communicate with the various Elkay manufacturing plants in accordance with federal, state and local regulation compliance; lead and manage programs in conjunction with senior management teams, to implement policies for the use of personal protective equipment and workplace safety practices; develop safety training/programs to reduce/prevent risk of injury which involves on-site visits and videoconferencing. Specific responsibilities include:

Responsible for overseeing Construction and General Industry OSHA regulatory compliance for our multiple US and international facilities.

Design and/or facilitate safety plans and programs for our global program to minimize risk and expense at all company locations. Develop training materials for Safety program across all locations. Train personnel as required.

Manage and prepare internal and external monthly reports and annual reports. Lead Safety meetings and calls regarding incidents and trends. Manage safety data from global operations/facilities.

Coordinate with government agencies for arbitrations, inspections, regulations, etc. Assist with, and when necessary, lead facilities with governmental agency audits, inspections, etc. and attend formal mediations or hearings.

Identify and outline existing or potential risks and recommend and monitor preventative or corrective action plans. Serve as internal consultant to plants.

Support mergers, acquisitions or relocation audits, and regulatory issues. Identify existing or potential risks and clarify costs associated with this process. Manage M&A Phase I and II safety efforts for all potential locations.

Stay current with safety laws/regulations/regulatory standards. Review and roll out new regulations and standards, ensure proper implementation. Continuously monitor and implement changes as appropriate.


Bachelor’s Degree in related field desired.

7 – 10 years of safety experience in a manufacturing environment required.

OSHA 30-HR course required. Knowledge of Construction OSHA and General Industry OSHA. ASP, CSP, OHST certifications a plus. Laser Safety Officer a plus.

Excellent influence management skills essential in working with facilities and corporate leadership and staff.

Must be able to travel to domestic and international facility locations 35-45% of the time.

Experience with safety policy development and implementation required.

Must be experienced with developing and delivering safety training.

Knowledge of NFPA, FM Global Standards, fire protection and security a plus.

Bilingual in Spanish a big plus.

Excel and PowerPoint proficiency required.

Proven oral and written communication skills with excellent interpersonal skills.

Workday and SiteHawk related software program a plus.

Demonstrated successes implementing loss control processes, training and behavioral based safety programs.

Ability to lead large projects


Ability to work independently when necessary and work effectively as a team with the larger Risk Department or with the plant facilities.

Ability to interact with all levels of an organization and with third party partners.

Experience in the demands and requirements of a rapid growth business environment.
