Job Description: 3M is seeking an experienced Application Engineering Specialist for the Hearing Protection Business u00a0located in Maplewood, MN. Job Summary : The person hired for the position of Application Engineering Specialist will support and grow the Hearing Protection Business with a focus on Hearing Conservation Programs and the Advanced Hearing Protection/Protective Communications products and markets. For additional information, please visit: 3M Hearing Protection Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Contribute to new product development teams through Application Engineering activities such as identification of customer needs, substantiation of claims, writing of user instructions, and development/implementation of effective new product launch technical and training materials. Conduct customer training and education, deliver industry/professional association presentations and create materials on the importance of hearing conservation and communication, health and safety topics related to hearing, technologies, product selection and use of hearing protection products, including protective communications products.u00a0 Promote health and safety best practices combined with world class product knowledge and application through collaboration with and leadership of global colleagues. Advance the science, use and understanding of Advanced Hearing Solutions/Protective Communications through research and scientific principles. Other duties as assigned Basic Qualifications: Possess a Bacheloru2019s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) in a science or engineering discipline from an accredited institution Minimum three (3) years of experience in a private, public, government or military environment in one or more of the following areas:occupational health and safety, audiology, hearing conservation, and/or nursing Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health or Safety, Audiology or related field from an accredited university. Professional certification u2013 Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Council for Accreditation in Occupational Hearing Conservation (CAOHC). Experience in managing hearing conservation programs and / or PPE programs. Experience in scientific research relating to health. Minimum 5 (five) yearsu2019 experience working in the occupational health and safety profession or related field. Strong interpersonal skills and very proficient at oral and written communications. Customer-focused self-starter who can effectively work in a fast-paced environment, with an appropriate sense of urgency. Location: Maplewood, MN Travel: May include up to 10% domestic/international travel Relocation Benefits: Are authorized for this position This position provides an opportunity to transition from other private, public, government or military environments to a 3M career.
