Job Description The Safety Representative is responsible for making the Company's #1 critical success factor, safety first, a priority in all tasks and activities performed by self and all others involved. Promote Company core values, safety culture and Continuous Process Improvement (CPI). Responsible for the supervision and administration of project safety initiatives, compliance, and training programs designed to maintain a safe and healthy work environment. Develops and implements training programs for employee safety procedures to promote accident protection and prevention. Responsibilities also include developing and distributing educational materials, inspecting company work sites and facilities, and recommending corrections or additional precautions to ensure compliance with established regulations. Major responsibilities \/ essential job functions: -Assume professional safety role and promote safe operations. -Assist in controlling hazardous working conditions and unsafe employee activities through interface with project management\/supervisory personnel. -Assist in building of Job Hazard Analysis and Site Specific Safety Plans. -Collaborate with field leadership to plan and execute electrical construction control measures to include energized electrical controls IAW with NFPA 70E, LO\/TO, confined space, excavation, fall protection, hazardous material exposure, as well as non-electrical hazardous energy such as mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and so on. -Assist in supervision and administration of safety, compliance and training activities. -Participate in developing and conducting staff and craft safety training programs. -Conduct work area inspections, safety audits, observations and document activities. -Document near misses, accidents, safety violations, unsafe conditions\/activities with company tools and platforms. -Assist in management of driver training, DOT compliance and records maintenance. -Support Safety Committee meetings and incident reviews as required. -Accompany safety, health and insurance inspectors on walk through tours as required. -Review safety related journals, catalogs, and so on to keep abreast of changes\/improvements in techniques, protective safety equipment, and material. -Perform additional duties as assigned.
