Role Summary:

Baker Hughes, a GE company is currently hiring a HSE Management System Leader based in Houston, Texas. The position reports into the HSE Performance Transformation Lead.

Proactive, self-motivated position facilitates the development, revision, implementation, and assurance of comprehensive health, safety and environmental programs for the enterprise including procedures that meet regulatory and industry requirements while reducing complexity and unnecessary burden from operations teams. Leverages the knowledge and skills of internal and external subject matter experts to maintain the company’s leading position among peers with a progressive management system.

Essential Responsibilities:

Leads development and implementation of HSE management system through enterprise operating system

Pursues innovative solutions to reduce complexity and improve effectiveness of HSE programs and procedures

Facilitates input from internal and external subject matter experts to ensure efficient and effective programs and procedures are developed

Streamlines process workflows to create or modify global HSE management system documents

Aligns management system with industry leading best practices and certification requirements, such as ISO and IOGP

Qualifications/Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in HSE, engineering, science, or related field

7 years HSE or operations experience

3 years of management experience

Superior communication skills – written and verbal

Strong analytical skills to evaluate trends and recommend strategic action

Proficient in Microsoft Office and SAP-type programs

Ability to work well in a team environment, including across departments

Proven track record of introducing industry-leading/ innovative concepts or tools

Demonstrated ability to strategically work on multiple priorities and bring these to execution

Ability to informally solicit support and feedback within the matrix

Experience in systematically evaluating strategy/ operational effectiveness

Desired Characteristics:

Master’s degree or higher in HSE, engineering, science, or related field

Proficiency in HSE or quality management system auditing (ISO preferred)

Oil & gas field operations experience
