Provide quality employee care in collaboration with physicians, industrial hygienists, safety specialists, human resources specialists, and work site managers.
Interprets the results of physical examinations and associated laboratory, x-ray, screening spirometry, audiograms, and other medical testing related to potential work site stressors.
Develops and facilitates the clinic?s Occupational Health Program based on current trends and policies.
Provides education and training on health promotion in the workplace, specific hazardous substances, medical surveillance protocols, job certification requirements, and work limitations and modifications for employees.
Provides treatment for work and non-work related injuries and illnesses within established protocols and scope of nursing practice and makes appropriate consultation and referrals.
Follows up on occupationally related medical illnesses, injuries, and other conditions adversely impacting an employee?s medical status.
Recognizes insidious health effects and plans screening test to identify medical changes before disease occurs.

Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
Must be able to obtain an interim and/or final Secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty AND must be able to maintain the required level of clearance while employed in the subject position.
Selectee will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.

Applicants must meet the following Basic Requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Applicants must possess a graduate or higher level degree, bachelor's degree, associate degree, or diploma from an accredited professional nursing educational program accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs, Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education, or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time my degree was obtained. (Note - Official certification from the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools is required for individuals who graduated from foreign nursing schools). AND I have passed the National Council Licensure Examination. AND I possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a professional nurse from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States; OR, a graduate or higher level degree in nursing from an accredited educational program in the area of expertise or specialty indicated by this position. Areas of specialties for positions include, but are not limited to, Acute Care, Anesthesia, Community Health, Family, Geriatric, Home Health, Midwifery, Neonatal, Oncology, Pediatric, Psychiatric, Allergy and Immunology, Women's Health, Cardiovascular, Dermatology, Occupational Health, Orthopedic, Respiratory, or other specialties identified for the position. AND I am licensed or registered by a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States in the clinical specialty required by this position. (USE FOR ADVANCED PRACTICE NURSE POSITIONS)
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: counseling individuals to promote and improve existing chronic health conditions; providing specialized health screening procedures, x-ray, screening spirometry, audiograms, and other medical testing related to potential work site stressors; making workplace visits to evaluate the health hazards and utilization of appropriate safety and protective equipment; providing nursing assessment, diagnosis and implementation of treatment plans according to standardized medical protocols for occupational and non-occupational illnesses.
