As EHS site specialist you will be responsible to ensure that the right processes and practices are implemented across the organization ensuring that our workshops and labs are operated at the highest environmental, health and safety standards.
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
As EHS site specialist you own the EHS-direction for the site, takes care of the employees and ensures that the site is working in accordance to the company EHS policies and procedures and in compliance with national rules and regulations.
You will be responsible to:
Deployment of global EHS goals & objectives, policies, and procedures including establishment and optimization of local safety procedures and environmental controls
Ensure that environmental, health and safety regulations are met, and that processes and procedures are legally compliant
Create awareness of EHS creating a culture of safety ensuring that safety is our first priority
Train site personnel in applicable EHS processes and procedures
Act as key point of contact towards authorities and certification bodies
Plan, coordinate and follow-up on EHS activities
Plan, execute, report and follow-up on internal and external audits related to legal compliance, the EHS management system and insurance audits
Support on establishment of heat maps, strength of defense and risk assessments working closely together with operational and functional managers of the site to ensure that all operational activities are clearly identified, and risks assessed
Plan, coordinate, handle, follow-up and monitor compliance related tasks and other open actions and control measures ensuring that the cause of the issue is determined, and immediate corrective actions are taken
Address operational concerns and issues ensuring timely decisions on open issues and escalate if necessary
Oversee and report performance measures
Support qualification of suppliers and testing service providers
Technical expertise within team
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or similar technical qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of experience from a similar role within environment, health and safety
Desired Characteristics
Strong working knowledge of national industry legal and regulatory rules and guidelines and experience as lead auditor
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to motivate, inspire, coach and develop others
Demonstrated ability to manage work with integrity and build and maintain strong working relationships with all levels of the organization and/or other organizations
Ability to adapt quickly to changing conditions and resolve conflicts
Excellent national and English communication skills both written and verbal
Outgoing and accommodating towards your colleagues
Strong communicator and knows how to influence other and lead initiatives using your engagement in the work with the environment, health and safety to motivate others to perform at their best.
Knowledge about chemical management, industrial hygiene and ergonomics
Experience in qualification of contractors and other service providers
Experience as lead auditor in ISO 14001 and ISO 45001
Experience in incident investigation
Experience with LEAN principles e.g. VSM
