We are currently seeking a skilled and dedicated HSE Specialist to join our client at their manufacturing facility in Ennis.
As an HSE Specialist, you will work under the direction of the HSE Manager to ensure the successful implementation of Health & Safety and Environmental initiatives across the site. Your primary responsibilities will include assisting managers, team leaders, and individuals in meeting their HSE responsibilities, delivering training, developing and maintaining safety systems, and contributing to the development of HSE strategies and action plans.

Responsibilities (A Snapshot)
Assist in the development and maintenance of a suitable and practical OHSMS, and EMS
Contribute to the development and delivery of Health and Safety strategies, action plans
Assist in the maintenance of
a fit-for-purpose health, safety and risk management systems across the site and are operated to the standards set by Huhtamaki and required by law.
Prepare and maintain Site Specific risk assessments, method statements & HSE procedures
Carry out assessments and requirements under legislation at relevant intervals and maintain records
Conduct health and safety inspections and prepare reports of all the company's operations.
Immediately contact the Health & Safety Manager if situations are found, that in the opinion of the HSE Specialist, require immediate rectification or the stopping of any operation.
Assist in the monitoring and maintenance of the regular audit review process for all RAs and SOPs
Assist in the development and maintenance Chemical Agent assessment for all hazardous substances used on site.
Skills & Experience
Suitable candidates will have:
Relevant HSE qualifications and have at least 2 years' experience working in Health & Safety OR
5 years' experience of working in a Health & Safety role
Experience in Health & Safety includes assessing risks, training, audits & inspection, dealing with incidents and reporting
Be comfortable participating in the development of the Company's HSE systems and encouraging a culture of excellence and compliance
Have a good level of knowledge of the above standards, relevant legislation and compliance requirements
Good planning, teamwork and communication skills
Be computer literate with Microsoft Office to a proficient level
Experience of working in a HACCP environment would be desirable
Experience of working with OHSAS 18001/ISO45001 & ISO14001
Qualified as a manual handling instructor
